BCSD will have a high-tech presence at 2018 Charleston STEM Festival

Robots, propeller boats, and a challenge that encompasses science, technology, engineering, art and math — we’re talking about the Berkeley County School District table at the 2018 Charleston STEM Festival.

BCSD will be one of more than 80 exhibitors at the event. There will also be live performances, interactive demonstrations and family-oriented STEM entertainment.

The event is scheduled to be held February 3 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Brittlebank Park in Charleston.

Directions & Parking

(Please note: Dogs and other pets will not be permitted within the STEM Festival area at Brittlebank Park on the day of the Festival)

Directions

From I-26: Take 1-26 East and continue until it turns into the Septima Clark Parkway and then Spring Street. Turn right onto Lockwood Drive. The Festival will be on the left at Brittlebank Park.

From Hwy 17: follow US 17-N. take the Lockwood Drive Exit. Turn left onto Lockwood Drive. The Festival will be on the left at Brittlebank Park.

Parking

There are several parking options this year and we encourage you to use our FREE shuttle service!

Shuttle Route #1 (blue loop) includes the Aquarium and College of Charleston garages. Guests of the festival can park in these garages for a a flat $5 fee. Pick up your pass at the STEM Festival Information Booth and present it to the attendant when leaving the garage.

Shuttle Route #2 (red loop) will run between the Veterans (VA) Lot, located on Folly Road and the festival. Parking at the VA lot is FREE.

Parking is also available at the Hagood lot ($5) across from the Riverdogs stadium.

Each route will have 2 buses running; expected wait time at each stop is approximately 15 minutes or less.

Transit

The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) has a FREE DASH Downtown Shuttle that picks up throughout the downtown area. RT 213 stops at the Lockwood Marriott as well as near the City Police Building.
