The Goose Creek Chamber Choir traveled to Atlanta over the weekend and participated in the WorldStrides Heritage Festival.

The event hosts choirs from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Among those, the Goose Creek Chamber Choir posted the highest score as it received a gold rating and placed first among all schools in the choral division.

"We are so proud of the way the students performed," Goose Creek Director of Choral Activities Jordan Boyd said.

Members of the choir learned of their superior achievement during an awards ceremony that was held in the dolphin arena of the Georgia Aquarium.

The recognition is one of several achieved by the Goose Creek Chamber Choir and its members this year. Barely a year in existence, the Goose Creek Chamber Choir was also named Grand Champion of the Lander Choral Festival in February.
