3 BCSD football teams open SCHSL playoffs with big wins

Three Berkeley County School District high school football teams opened the playoffs with big wins Friday night as they make runs for South Carolina High School League titles.
The Wolves of Timberland shutout Kingstree, 34-0, in the first round of Class AA football playoff action. The Wolves move to 8-2 on the season and will host Mullins in a second-round Lowerstate matchup on this Friday, November 16.
The Hawks of Hanahan defeated Pelion, 20-7, in the first round of the Lowerstate Class AAA bracket. They will now host Aynor on Friday, November 16. Hanahan now holds a 7-3 record.
The Stags of Berkeley upended Irmo, 48-33 in a game highlighted by the comeback mounted by the Stags in the second half and the snapping of the “Stags Crossing” sign during its ceremonial slapping prior to the game. Berkeley (10-1) will host River Bluff on Friday, November 16.
