SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
Superintendent Dr. Eddie Ingram commented on a variety of topics concerning Berkeley County School District and its students, faculty, staff and the communities served by the system. These remarks included:

  • 2018 BCSD Graduates- Ingram thanked everyone involved in the recent graduation ceremonies and announced that BCSD graduated 2,116 students and awarded 222 Honors Diplomas.
  • Stakeholder Meetings for Principal Selections- Last Thursday evening, we held a community meeting for the principal selection at Hanahan High School. The turnout was good, as was the conversation. We have decided to begin including a student representative on the initial round of our interview panel. We held another stakeholder meeting at Cross High School on Monday evening to discuss the attributes of a leader the Cross community would like to see in their next principal. We had a large turnout and will also have a student representative on that initial interview panel. Wednesday evening, we will have a third stakeholder meeting at Westview Primary to discuss the principal selection. We are looking forward to meeting with that community.
  • BHS Tennis Court Renovation- Ingram updated the Board on the Berkeley High tennis court renovation, sharing that the project is scheduled to begin around the last  week of June.
  • Summer Work Hours- Summer work hours began this week at BCSD. Central Services hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Public Hearing for 2018-2019 Budget- Dr. Ingram concluded his remarks by reminding the Board that the public hearing for the 2018-2019 Budget will be held just prior to our next scheduled Board meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26.
