The students at Berkeley Elementary School (BES) donated 1,152 items to the Callen-Lacey Center for Children, a residential program of the Carolina Youth Development Center, located in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

A part of Berkeley Elementary’s celebration of National Random Acts of Kindness Week, the students chose to make a difference in their community by raising awareness and supporting the area’s most vulnerable youth.

“I could not be more proud of our students, their families and our staff,” said BES Principal Kelly Gabriel. “Their generosity and kindness will help make a difference for children who are facing very challenging times. We are so thankful that Callen-Lacey Center for Children exists to provide a safe place for these children to call home, and I appreciate the opportunity that Berkeley Elementary had to be a part of making their work and service to children just a little bit easier.”

Callen-Lacey. Center for Children is the only emergency shelter for abused children and one of two such shelters serving the tri-county area. To learn more about the Center and the services it provides, please CLICK HERE.
