Congratulations to Hanahan Elementary on being selected as South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators feature school during their fall conference.
Through the Give Back Program, SCTAE allows members to support a local school where the conference is held. Members can donate to said school as a part of their conference registration process or during the conference. This year their fall conference was held at Charleston Southern University.
"We were selected because we have been partnering with CSU for the last several years to host student interns, practicum students, reading buddies and a mentoring program," said Principal Stephanie Mitchell. "We have also hired several CSU grads that were student teachers here, and have several employees working on their master’s and doctoral degrees through them."
At the conference, Mitchell accepted SCTAE's $1025 donation in-person.The money will go toward purchasing items for HES's various clubs, like chess boards, lego sets, art supplies, yoga mats and more.
