Berkeley High raising money for MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital with dance marathon

Published Friday, January 11, 2019

The Students in Action group at Berkeley High School (BHS) has launched a huge undertaking set to benefit MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital.

Unlike a traditional fundraiser, there will be no buying or selling of goods or services. Instead, the group at BHS is using the Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon model to raise money.

Following months of planning, the school will hold a dance marathon or dance party from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feburary 9. In addition to experiencing the party atmoshphere, students will get to meet patient familes treated by the children's hospital.

If you would like to support this cause, a donation may be made on the school's Children's Miracle Network fundraising page.

All proceeds and student registration (party participation) fees benefit MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital.

* In 1991, students at Indiana University founded dance marathon in the memory of Ryan White, a fellow student who passed away from HIV/AIDS. The program now spans North America, benefiting hundreds of hospitals and countless kids in the United States and Canada.
