BCSD names Fulmer and Dixon Chief Administrative Officers for schools

At the Tuesday, October 27 Berkeley County Board of Education meeting, the promotion of Ms. Aimee Fulmer as the Chief Administrative Officer for Elementary Schools and Dr. Anthony Dixon as the Chief Administrative Officer for Secondary Schools was unanimously approved. Ms. Fulmer previously served as the Director of Administrative Services and Student Assignment, and Dr. Dixon previously served as the Executive Director of Academics and Innovation. 

As the Chief Administrative Officer for elementary schools, Ms. Fulmer will:

  • Oversee elementary school operations
  • Address elementary student discipline and parent concerns
  • Supervise transportation, before and after school care programs and elementary school principals

As the Chief Administrative Officer for secondary schools, Dr. Dixon will:

  • Oversee middle and high school operations
  • Address middle and high student discipline and parent concerns
  • Supervise middle and high school principals

Ms. Fulmer and Dr. Dixon will also collaborate with other district leaders to determine attendance zones and facility needs, evaluate the district's discipline management plan, provide professional development to assistant principals, and evaluate the Alternative Education Program. 

Student attendance appeals and expulsions, administration and implementation of school attendance lines, and district athletics will be managed by Mr. Deon Jackson, Chief Administrative Officer of Pupil Services. 

Ms. Fulmer and Dr. Dixon assumed their new roles and responsibilities on Monday, November 2.
