  • BCSD'S LEAP PROGRAM STARTS NEXT WEEK

    BCSD's LEAP days will be held Aug. 17-21. Schools have different plans in place for the week. The days are geared toward students in 4K through eighth grade; however, not every student may have been invited.

  • Sept. 8 school start date approved

    The newly-revised and approved calendar has students returning to school (online and in-person) on September 8. The approved amendment to the calendar also makes November 25 a student/teacher holiday; adds June 17 as a half-day for students and makes June 18 and 21 teacher workdays.

  • Summer feeding program extended

    Hot meals will continued to be served from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The summer feeding program was originally slated to end July 30.

  • BCSD reopening plan among first in state to be approved

    The press release from the office of State Superintendent Molly Spearman described the Berkeley County plan and others as “high quality and innovative” while “keeping student and staff safety as their top priority.”

  • Meal purchases will be available for pick-up this school year

    Berkeley County School District’s students will be able to purchase breakfast and lunch in the upcoming school year, regardless of what learning platform they select. Students must be enrolled in a BCSD school to purchase a meal.

    BCSD is using nearly $6.8 million through the CARES Act to purchase items like gloves and masks for the upcoming school year.

  • BCSD RETURNING STUDENT UPDATE REQUIRED, OPENS WEDNESDAY, JULY 15

    A required update and online registration process for returning students will open Wednesday, July 15 at 8 a.m., and remain open to all returning students through Wednesday, July 29.

  • BCSD to offer students empowered learning pathways

    During Tuesday evening's regular meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education, Berkeley County School District leaders presented BCSD's initial plans for student empowered learning pathways. The Board was provided information concerning three learning pathways available to students during the 2020-2021 school year. Students will have the option to participate in traditional, blended distance learning or virtual instruction in the coming year.
