  • Welcome to U.S. History at Cane Bay High School!

The United States History and Constitution course is a required course for graduation in South Carolina.  Typically, students take the course in 11th grade, but there are some occasions when 10th or 12th grade students will also be enrolled in the class.

The U.S. History End of Course Exam (EOC)

All students in U.S. History are required to take the End Of Course Examination (EOC) given by the State Department of Education at the end of the course.  The EOC counts as twenty percent (20%) of the student's final grade.  Student do not have to pass the EOC to pass the U.S. History course, but poor performance on the EOC could affect a student's ability to pass the course.

The window of dates to take the EOC usually opens approximately two weeks prior to the end of the semester.  Specific dates are determined by the administration at the school level.  Teachers will inform students and parents of the specific date once that information is made available.

The EOC date for the Fall of 2017 will be on or around Tuesday, December 12.
