Our school was established in 1956.  The school has gone through a number of renovations over the years with the latest in 2001.

We service students, Headstart (3s&4s), CDEP (4s), Montessori (3yr olds up to 3rd grade), and K through 5th grade with limited programs for some 3-year olds and 4-year olds.

We are a Title 1 school with approximately 68% of our student on Free or Reduced lunch.

We offer a morning and after-school daycare program.

We are advanced in technology.  We have Smart boards in all instructional spaces.  Classrooms have 3 to 4 computers with additional opportunities in one of our 3 computer labs.  Our teachers use document cameras (Elmos) and wireless response systems.  We also have Ipads, Kindle Fires, and Chrome Notebooks in the classrooms.

Our current student population for the 2019-2020 school year is about 900 students.

    Current class size averages are:

    • 22 students in kindergarten
    • 20 students in first grade
    • 22 students in second through fifth grade.

We are into our 10th year of implementation of Positive Behavior Implementation and Supports (PBIS).  This program is school-wide and focuses on teaching behavior expectations and rewarding those that are meeting those expectations.

We currently have programming for gifted and talented students in third through fifth grade.

We have a highly qualified special education department that can meet the learning needs of our students.  We have staff members that are highly qualified in the areas learning disabilities, hearing impaired, speech (articulation and language), occupational and physical therapy, development delays and a number of other areas.

We have a number of opportunities for our parents to be involved.  These include an active volunteer program as well as a PTO,  School Improvement Council and parenting programs.
