  • AP English Language and Composition

Be prepared for a course that is unlike any literature-based English class you have taken previously. The focus of AP Language is on nonfiction and rhetoric, not short stories, novels, and poetry. We will learn the art of using language to accomplish a purpose, the skills to analyze, evaluate, and incorporate the language of others, and, perhaps most importantly, the ability to better understand and influence the world around us by becoming better critical readers, listeners, and thinkers.
