Mr. Chris Buchholz
Principal
Chris Buchholz joined BCSD 15 Years ago after moving to the area from Virginia where he started his teaching career in Special Education. He has served has a teacher and coach at Berkeley High School, Assistant Principal at Cane Bay High and Athletic Director of Goose Creek High School prior to Assuming the role of Principal here at Philip Simmons High School. He is no stranger to moving and traveling as he grew up an “Army Brat” and relocated 9 times prior to attending College. He received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University, a Master in Special Education from George Mason University and earned his Administrative Degree from the Citadel in 2011. He believes in a student-centered approach to instruction and management and has had a diverse experience as an administrator serving over all departments from Fine Arts to Special Education. He believes heavily in the motto “If you aren’t serving you aren’t leading.” Mr. Buchholz resides on Daniel Island with his wife Megan and two children Kenley and Ryan.
