The Department of Leadership Development and Evaluation supports the vision and mission of the Berkeley County School District by implementing world class leadership development programs and supervising the evaluation processes for all instructional employees in the district. The district is committed to providing first class leaders for all schools and departments. To accomplish this, leadership development programs provide current and aspiring administrators training specifically designed to meet the goals of the district. Professional development opportunities are also offered for teachers to enhance their leadership skills.
The Evaluation Office supports student learning by providing quality mentoring for all new teachers, professional development for new and experienced teachers, and formal and informal evaluation programs designed to enhance the skills of all instructional employees. The Assisting, Developing, and Evaluating Professional Teaching (ADEPT) Model provides the structure for these programs.
