The Berkeley County Board of Education sets policy, provides sufficient funding and monitors all instructional programs to ensure quality and equal education opportunities for all students.
The board meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Boardroom located at 107 E. Main Street in Moncks Corner (except as noted on October 26 and March 12).
Board meetings are open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend. There is an opportunity for "Citizen Comments" at each regular meeting.

BCSD makes several administrative appointments
Berkeley County School District announced several school administrator appointments on Wednesday, July 14 – most in response to promotions of school administrators announced at the previous day’s board meeting.

BCSD makes several central office appointments
CBH Principal Tim McDowell Cane Bay High Principal Tim McDowell has been named the new Chief Pupil Services Officer for the district; SHS Principal Heather Taylor has been named the new Chief Admin Officer for Secondary Schools; HHS academic coach Chelsey Bradley is now the A&I ELA Coordinator for the district.

Board approves hiring of 4 assistant principals
At the July 13, 2021 regular meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education, four assistant principal hires were approved.

Dr. Theodore Prioleau and Kelli Roberson named principals of JKE, HMS
Theodore Prioleau has been named principal of J. K. Gourdin Elementary; Kellie Roberson, who currently serves as the district's interim executive of Academics and Innovation, will now serve as principal of Hanahan Middle.
