Welcome Marrington Families!
It is an honor to spend my 22nd year in public education at Marrington Elementary School! During this time, I have served as a classroom teacher, Title I Facilitator/Instructional Coach and as an assistant principal in Berkeley County. I am licensed and certified through the South Carolina Department of Education in the areas of Early Childhood, Elementary Principal and Elementary Supervisor.
On a personal note, I was born in Iowa City, IA but moved to South Carolina when I was in elementary school. I married my high school sweetheart and have two children, Breanna and Steven. Both of my children attended public school in Berkeley County. My favorite hobbies outside of school include going to the beach, watching college football, and enjoying time with my family.
Lastly, I mention that working at Marrington Elementary is an honor…because it truly is. My grandfather served in the Army, becoming a POW in WWII with the German forces. After his release, He lived a full life of 94 years. My dad served in the Navy and my Brother-In-Law served in the Marine Corp. Although, my father was out of the service before I was born and I did not live the military family life, I have great admiration for the families that do make this sacrifice for our country. Military children truly bring a unique perceptive to the classroom.
Thank you for letting me share a bit about myself with you. I look forward to meeting you and learning with your child!
