Ms. Butterworth received a B.S. in Public Health Education from UNC-Greensboro, and a MA in Counseling from Marshall University. She has seventeen years experience as a school counselor.

6th Grade Counselor

Ms. Hill received a B.A. in Education from USC and a master's in counseling from Clemson University.  She has worked as a teacher in Beaufort County and a career counselor at Trident Technical College.  This is her ninth year at BMS.

Ms. Hill has three children, all of which came through Berkeley County School District.

7th Grade Counselor

Hello! My name is Channon Lee and this is my first year at Berkeley Middle School. I will be serving the 7th grade. I am excited to be here. I earned my Master's degree in Counselor Education from South Carolina State University in 2003. I recently obtained my Master's degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University in 2019. I have worked as a school counselor since 2004.

I began my career in Colleton County and have previously worked in Charleston County as well. This is my 9th year in Berkeley County.  I look forward to working with students to help them develop socially,  emotionally, and academically. Ms. Staggers-Wilson

8th Grade Counselor

Ms. Staggers-Wilson graduated with a B.S. in Professional Biology from South Carolina State University, a MA in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University, and a MEd in Elementary & Secondary School Counseling from Cambridge College. She has 14 years of experience as a school counselor. This is her 5th year at BMS.

She has worked in the past as a mental health counselor, foster care social worker, adoption specialist, and middle school science teacher. She has two adult children and resides in Kingstree, SC.

Ms. Severe

Part-Time Counselor

Ms. Severe received a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia College, and a MA in School Counseling from Chapman University. She has fifteen years experience as a school counselor. She has worked with all ages of students from K3-12th grade.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys being with family and friends, especially her three kids.
