The Arts Programs at Goose Creek Elementary

Students at Goose Creek Elementary enjoy weekly instruction in both the visual and performing arts.  Each year in March, several students are selected to perform in the Berkeley All-County Chorus.  Each autumn, many students have their art displayed at the Coastal Carolina Fair.  In April, Goose Creek Elementary student artwork is featured in the public art show at Northwoods Mall.  In addition, each year one piece of art is selected to represent our school in the Berkeley County School District Art Show, a public event where the student artist receives formal recognition from school board members.

We are proud to announce that Jackson tied for FIRST PLACE in the elementary division of the artwork contest and placed  SECOND place OVERALL  in the contest (that means combined with middle and high school level artwork)!

Jackson’s artwork was featured in the recent issue of the Home Telecom Directory published in March 2018, so look for his “Yellow Jessamine”! Jackson’s award also came with $1000 for GCE to spend on classroom art supplies, courtesy of Home Telecom!

Jackson and his artwork were honored at the BCSD board meeting on April 24, 2018. In addition to meeting the school board members, Jackson received a plaque in honor of this special accomplishment.

Congratulations, Jackson! & Thank you, Home Telecom!
