Thank you for visiting this webpage. Hopefully you will find pertinent information to help you with any questions you may have about the subjects I teach or about me in general. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.Background
After graduating from Stratford High School in 1992, I attended the College of Charleston and earned both a Bachelor's (1996) and Master's (2003) degree in Elementary Education and am certified to teach 1 - 8 grades, as well as Social Studies in middle and high school. Since then I have continued my education by taking various content classes offered through the district and local universities and also completed requirements for certification in Advanced Placement Psychology. My teaching career began at Berkeley County Alternative School where I taught high school mathematics and middle school reading, social studies, language arts, and mathematics for four years. In 2001 I came back to Stratford to teach and coach.
Coaching
The 2014 season was my fourteenth and final season of being the head coach of the Varsity Swimming team here at SHS. I was selected as the Region 7-AAAA Boys Swim Coach of the Year that year.Family
My husband Kevin and I have been married seventeen years and have three daughters: Spencer (15 - 10th grade), Rori Mae (13 - 8th grade), and Keelan Grace (4), and live in Goose Creek, as I have for the past 40 years. The Goose Creek community is important to our family. Kevin was elected to represent the citizens of Goose Creek on City Council and I serve on the Recreation Commission. As a family we regularly attend extra-curricular functions at SHS and enjoy getting to know students and parents outside the school setting. Spencer was a member of the 2016 Stratford Softball team that won the AAAA State Title in the spring and participates on the Golf team this fall and Rori Mae is a member of the Swimming team. Both of my older daughters play travel softball with the Carolina Diamondbacks throughout the year and swim with the Crowfield Killerwaves during the summer. -
