• Mrs. Rogers, Theatre Arts

Amy Rogers has been teaching students the art of theatre for 21 years, though this is only her fourth year at Hanahan High School. Mrs. Rogers holds a B.A. in Theatre and English from Charleston Southern University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from The Citadel. Mrs. Rogers got her start in theatre by putting on backyard performances with her sister for anyone who would sit still long enough to watch. She has since written, directed, and performed in numerous plays and musicals. She even met her husband in college, when they were cast as mother and son in The Happiest Millionaire.  Her theatre students have won numerous awards at festivals and competitions over the past several years, but she is most proud when she sees her students work as an ensemble and bond over the experience of creating a play.  She has a son who attends Appalachian State University and twin sons who are freshmen at HHS. She and her family live in Summerville with two cats and two dogs.
