Hello Parents and Students!

 A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME.....

 

          Welcome to a new semester! I am Nicole Behan, and I will be teaching your child Algebra 2 CP, Pre-Calculus Honors, or CP Calculus this semester. I reside in Goose Creek.  I have two boys, one is 10 and the other is 11 years old. I grew up in North Charleston and graduated from Stall High School. I attended the College of Charleston. At the undergraduate level, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Education.  I earned a Masters Degree in Mathematics and Science in Education from The University of Charleston.

          In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am an adjunct professor at Trident Technical College. I am a member of the district, state, and national mathematical associations.

 GRADING POLICIES FOR EACH COURSE:

ALGEBRA II CP--NINE WEEKS GRADING POLICY

 

20% Homework -- Homework will be assigned daily, even on weekends, and will be checked for completion. When possible, I will assign the odd numbered problems. Since answers are provided in the back of the book for odd problems, no credit will be assigned for blank pages, responses of “I did not understand”, or answers only.

 

30% Classwork/Quizzes – Includes, but is not limited to, warm-ups, practice worksheets, writing assignments, and quizzes.

 

50% Tests – Major assessments will occur at the end of each chapter or unit of instruction. Approximately five tests will be given each nine weeks.

 

When calculating the course final grade, there will be a final exam that accounts for 10% of the yearly average.

 

 

HONORS PRECALCULUS--NINE WEEKS GRADING POLICY

 

15% Homework -- Homework will be assigned daily, even on weekends, and will be checked for completion. When possible, I will assign the odd numbered problems. Since answers are provided in the back of the book for odd problems, no credit will be assigned for blank pages, responses of “I did not understand”, or answers only.

 

25% Classwork/Quizzes – Includes, but is not limited to, warm-ups, practice worksheets, writing assignments, and quizzes.

 

60% Tests – Major assessments will occur at the end of each chapter or unit of instruction. Approximately five tests will be given each nine weeks.

 

When calculating the course final grade, there will be a final exam that accounts for  10% of the yearly average.

 

CP CALCULUS--NINE WEEKS GRADING POLICY

 

20% Homework -- Homework will be assigned daily, even on weekends, and will be checked for completion. When possible, I will assign the odd numbered problems. Since answers are provided in the back of the book for odd problems, no credit will be assigned for blank pages, responses of “I did not understand”, or answers only.

50% Tests – Major assessments will occur at the end of each chapter or unit of instruction. Approximately five tests will be given each nine weeks.

 

When calculating the course final grade, there will be a final exam that accounts for 10% of the yearly average for any junior.  Seniors may take the exam to see if it will improve their grade.

 

Extra Help / Tutoring / Guidance Information:

I am available for extra help every morning before school, Monday through Friday, starting at 8:15 AM. I am also available after school, Monday through Thursday, until 4:15 PM. I am here to help! However, to avoid conflict with meetings and other obligations please let me know in advance that you are coming. In addition, if at any time parents wish to have a conference, please contact the school guidance department to schedule an appointment: 843-820-3710.
