Mr. Mike Wilkerson

Assistant Principal

Mr. Wilkerson comes to Philip Simmons High after serving as principal at Berkeley Middle for a decade. He is was born and raised in Berkeley County and is a 1991 graduate of Berkeley High. 

After graduating from Berkeley High, Mr. Wilkerson attended The Citadel, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 1995. In 2001, he received his Master of Arts in Education from The Citadel. He began his teaching career as a science teacher at Berkeley High School in 1996. From 1999 until 2007, he taught science at Hanahan High School before accepting a position as assistant principal at Goose Creek High. After five years at Goose Creek High, he found himself in the leadership role at Berkeley Middle.

He is married to Heather Wilkerson, and they have two children. He enjoys golf and music, and he is an avid supporter of The Citadel athletics.
