CMSgt (Ret) Michelle M. Siau

Aerospace Science Instructor

Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) Siau spent 22.5 years on active duty with the United States Air Force (USAF). She was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC and enlisted in the USAF three years after graduating from high school. She initially had a job as an Electrician and Mechanic; however, changed careers several times.

In 1990, she was certified as a USAF and USA Instructor and taught Airmen Leadership School. She also developed curriculum and was an instructor for Criminal Intelligence Analysis courses. She relocated to the Pentagon and was teaching Total Quality Management when she was selected to serve on the Strategic Initiatives Team. In 2001, she was assigned to the Command Action Center (CAC) during 9/11.

After 9/11, she was selected to serve as the Resource Manager for the Director, National Guard Bureau. In 2004, during Operation Enduring Freedom, she deployed to the United Arab Emirates. Upon her return, she was promoted to CMSgt and assigned to the Operations Directorate. During Hurricane Katrina, Chief Siau was assigned to the CAC and served as the Superintendent for the Tanker Airlift Control Flight. In 2007, she retired and moved to Arizona where she taught AFJROTC at Dobson High School and Agua Fria High School. In November 2019, she and her husband, along with their two dogs (Bella and Covey) moved to SC.

Chief Siau has an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force in Electrical and Mechanical Technology. In 1993, she received a BA in Management from the University of Phoenix. In 2011, she received her Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. In 2011, she was awarded the AFJROTC Region 6 Instructor of the Year.

Chief Siau is excited to start a new AFJROTC program at Phillip Simmons High School. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Iron Horse community and looks forward to putting the program on the map!
