    J.K. Gourdin Elementary held a Black History Month performance Wednesday that told a story of persistence and perseverance. There were poems, readings, music and a skit performed. The work put into the event by the students was AMAZING!

    Cane Bay High’s dance and drama companies waltzed across the stage in their edition of “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 19, putting on a performance that the dance and drama companies hope will kick off a new tradition of creating holiday pieces.

  • Westview Elementary creates living memorial after 2 weeks of learning about the Holocaust

    The two-week series of events and lessons at Westview Elementary was made possible by collaboration with the Charleston Jewish Federation’s REMEMBER Program for Holocaust Education and Genocide Awareness. The program is designed to educate and build community among all races, faiths and ethnicities in the Charleston area and inspire citizens to take a stand against all forms of hate, bias and anti-Semitism. As of 2019, the program has worked with approximately 30 schools in the Lowcountry and reached more than 5,000 students to teach the Holocaust in meaningful and innovative ways.
