    All Cane Bay Choir Students who are enrolled in Chorus for BOTH semesters are eligible to audition for the Berkeley County All-County Chorus.  This is a recorded audition and must be completed by October 1st. If selected, students will be responsible for a $15 participation fee that covers a T-shirt and lunches for the event.  The Audition consists of 2 parts:

    Audition Process

     

    ALL AUDITIONS WILL BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY.  Directors should send mp3’s of each student’s

    audition in a Google Folder to scacdahonorchoirs@gmail.com. Each director should request a block of audition numbers for their school by contacting Craig Coelho (ccoelho@lexrich5.org).

    Audition:

    1. Vocalise: The singer will complete 2 vocalise patterns

     

    Piano accompaniment MAY be used for this portion of the audition.  However, please listen to your recordings to ensure that the piano does not overbalance the singer. Teachers MAY NOT sing with the applicant.

      

    Starting in the middle of the range sing the following vocalise pattern UP to the highest comfortable note. Please state your starting pitch.

    Starting in the middle of the range sing the following vocalise pattern DOWN to the lowest comfortable note. Please state your starting pitch.

    1. America (My Country ‘Tis of Thee): Piano or other accompaniment MAY NOT

    be used for this portion of the audition. Teachers MAY NOT sing with the applicant.

    Starting on the pitches listed below, sing the first verse UNACCOMPANIED:

            Sop. I – A above middle C                                  Tenor  I  – A below middle C

            Sop. II – G above middle C                                 Tenor  2/Baritone – G below middle C

            Alto – E above middle C                                      Bass – E below middle C


    No other sounds other than the initial pitches and

    the applicant singing should be recorded.
