Mission Statement: The mission of the PSM Library Media Center is to inspire students to become lifelong readers and users of information.

General InformationThe PSM Library Media Center is a learning center. The conduct policy we follow is based on the PSM school-wide behavior expectations. Students visit the LMC to read, borrow books, and research as well as learning through teacher/media specialist collaborative projects. The LMC maintains a climate that is favorable to quiet work.  Students must be respectful and polite to staff and other students. LMC hours are 7:20am-2:45pm Monday through Friday.

Borrowing Privileges: Students may check out 3 books at a time. Books may be kept for up to two weeks. Materials may be renewed unless another student has placed a hold for that material.

Loaner Chromebook/Charger InfoPer district policy, students will receive a loaner Chromebook/charger only if their device needs repair.

Overdue & Lost Books: Overdue notices will be sent out periodically. There are no overdue fines, but students must pay for lost or damaged materials. If a student has an overdue book, he/she will be allowed to check out only 1 book until they have cleared his/her account by returning the missing book(s) or paying for them. Report cards will be held for overdue books until they are returned.

Damaged Books: When a book is returned to the library in a damaged condition, the Library Media Specialist will attempt to determine the cause and extent of the damage. Sometimes a book can be repaired to make it suitable for circulation. At other times, the damage is irreparable, and a replacement cost will be determined. When a book is damaged beyond suitability for circulation, a letter is mailed home along with a copy of the book's record showing the replacement cost. Upon payment, a letter of receipt is sent home with the student.
