• This page provides a brief overview of the benefits offered to eligible employees of Berkeley County School District. 

    Emergency Catastrophic Leave Program (ECLP)

    Emergency/Catastrophic Leave Program (participation is voluntary)—to participate, one sick is donated every school year.  You can enroll within 30 days of hire date or during open enrollment for E/CL every September.

    A doctor certification is required to accompany the application. The E/CL board reviews application to determine if the medical condition is considered an emergency or catastrophic event.

    The benefit provides up to 90 days of sick leave if approved. E/CL Days are awarded in increments of 30 days. Once an employee has exhausted the 90 days of this benefits, they are no longer eligible to be a member.
