    Mission Statement

    Our mission is to work together as a school and community to eliminate bullying behavior at MNM in order to provide every student with a safe environment conducive to learning.

    Bullying Is:

    • Unwanted or aggressive behavior
    • Repeated and intentional

    Bullying Is Not:

    • Choosing different groups to associate with or hang out with from time to time
    • Arguments or disagreements between people
    • A one-time occurrence

    Characteristics of Bully Prevention Program

    The characteristics of our Bully Prevention Program are:

    • a commitment from school staff, students and parents to oppose all forms of bullying
    • effective procedures in place to deal with bullying incidents
    • immediate intervention and ongoing support for victims
    • consequences, education and support for students exhibiting bullying behavior
    • education and reinforcement of conflict resolution skills and strategies
    • classroom guidance to educate students about bullying behaviors and to raise awareness of the school’s expectations

    No Bullying Allowed (NBA) Process

    NBA forms are located on our webpage, in classrooms, the main office, and Mr. Bell's office. A NBA form is a one-page form to be completed by students or staff members when an incident of bullying is observed among students.

    First Incident

    • A NBA form is completed and submitted to a school counselor.
    • Counselor meets with students individually to gather information and to provide support.
    • Students’ teachers are made aware of the situation.
    • If the incident involves a threat or physical assault of any type, additional intervention shall include a referral to an administrator for assessment and appropriate follow-up.

    Second Incident

    • A NBA form is completed and submitted to a school counselor.
    • Counselor contacts parents of students involved.
    • Counselor works with students individually or in small group on empowerment skills, strategies, and appropriate behaviors.
    • Counselor follows up with students’ teachers regarding interventions and parent contacts.
    • If the incident involves a threat or physical assault of any type, additional intervention shall include a referral to an administrator for assessment and appropriate follow-up.

    Third Incident

    • A NBA form is completed and submitted to a school counselor.
    • Counselor holds in person conference with student exhibiting bullying behavior, parents and administrator to complete an “Order to Stop” form.
    • Counselor works with students individually or in small group on empowerment skills, strategies, and appropriate behaviors.

    Fourth Incident

    • A NBA form is completed and submitted to a school counselor.
    • Administration conducts an investigation of reported incidents.
    • Administration concludes investigation, assigns appropriate consequences, and contacts parents.
