  • Nine BCSD Teachers Awarded BEC Bright Ideas Grants

    Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BEC) awarded nine Berkeley County School District (BCSD) teachers with Bright Ideas grants at their annual Bright Ideas reception at Oakley Farms on Monday, October 9, 2017. Bright Ideas is a grant program designed to provide funding for innovative classroom-based education projects.

  • Berkeley Electric Co-op turns over a new LEAF

    Students in the Driver’s Education class at Stratford High School will be hitting the road in an 100% electric vehicle when Berkeley Electric Cooperative hands over the keys to its Nissan LEAF tomorrow as part of their “Pass the Key” program.

    Family and Community Engagement Meeting

    The Division of Academic Services (DAS) will be hosting a Family & Community Engagement meeting on November 16, 6:00-7:30 pm at Sedgefield Intermediate School. This meeting will be a collaborative information meeting to provide BCSD families with information about programs and services provided by the DAS.

  • STEP

    2017-2018 STEP Audition Referral Application

    The Special Talent Enrichment Program (STEP) serves Berkeley County School District students in grades four through twelve who have been identified through auditions as gifted in visual art, music, drama and dance. The program currently consists of a two-week summer session and after-school programs at various sites in the county. Middle school STEP students are also eligible to enroll at Marrington Middle School of the Arts.

    Audition requests, information and applications will be available in school offices, from the schools’ arts teachers and on the fine arts page of the district’s website: CLICK HERE

    The audition request form must be completed by November 17, 2017 at 4:00 pm. No late applications will be accepted.
