At Sedgefield Middle School, we strive to provide our students with rigorous and engaging instruction, a variety of extra-curricular activities, and a positive school climate. Sedgefield Middle School has a large and diverse student population, with nearly 1100 students in sixth through eighth grades.
Committedstakeholders include the students, parents, teachers, staff, and community who share a vision of academic excellence.
The core curriculum emphasizes ELA, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science.
We also offer students a variety of clubs after school to include: Google CSFirst, National BETA club, Yearbook, Robotics, QUEST, Quiz Bowl, FBLA, TECHFit, Sports Club, and Anime Club. Students have the opportunity to earn a high school credit in English I, Algebra I, Keyboarding, Google Basics, Computer Applications and Spanish I.
Eight eighth-graders were named Junior Scholars and one seventh-grader were recognized as Duke Tip Scholars, and 100% of our students enrolled in English I and Algebra I passed the End-of Course Exam. Our Symphonic Band and Honors Orchestra received Superior ratings at the Spring Concert Performance Assessment. Each year the number of students who participate in All-County, All-Region, and All-State Band, Chorus, and Orchestra continue to grow.
As our school continues to grow, so will the accomplishments of our faculty and students. We look forward to creating future opportunities for our students and teachers at SFM.
