Stephanie Mitchell is in her 3rd year as an assistant principal at Westview Primary. Mrs. Mitchell has been in the Berkeley County School District for 16 years. She began teaching 1st grade at Boulder Bluff Elementary in 2000. Mrs. Mitchell moved to Hanahan Elementary in 2007 where she taught 1st and 2nd grades until she became a teacher evaluator in 2012.
Mrs. Mitchell was born and raised in Owosso, Michigan. When her family began vacationing on Kiawah Island when she was 13, she decided that she would one day live in the Charleston area! She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1999 and she and her husband moved to Hanahan in 2000. Mrs. Mitchell received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from The Citadel in 2012.
Mrs. Mitchell is married to Brian Mitchell, who is a teacher and coach at Hanahan High School. The Mitchell’s have 2 boys, Camden (14) and Braylon (11) who both attend Hanahan Schools. You can usually find the Mitchell family at a baseball field, but they also enjoy paddle boarding and golfing. They are huge Michigan and Detroit Tigers fans as well.
