Berkeley County Schools participates in the free and reduced program under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Each household may apply for free and reduced price meals. Each household must reapply each school year to continue these benefits. You may reapply for these benefits during the school year if your income, household size changes or become eligible for food stamps. (You must provide the food stamp case number on the application).
Students are eligible to maintain the same free, reduced or paying status from the previous school year for 30 days. If you submit a new application before the first 30 days of the school year, your child's status will change to reflect the new application. If a new application is not submitted within the 30 days, the benefits of your child(ren) will be eliminated.
Until your child's application has been processed, you will need to provide lunch money to purchase school meals at the regular price. Please allow ten working days for applications to be pre-approved and/or processed.
ONLY ONE FREE/REDUCED APPLICATION PER HOUSEHOLD.
